Mary Kay’s Clinic
Mary Kay’s Clinic
Mary Kay’s Clinic is a newly founded charitable health clinic that aims to provide much-needed services to the less fortunate in our community.
Several members of our church who work in the healthcare industry saw a need for identifying people who may not have access to health care and may be at risk for heart attack and stroke. The clinic is starting slowly by offering health screenings, but volunteers have big dreams for this ministry. The volunteers have already secured a grant of $2500 from Christus St. Michael to purchase necessary supplies.
For now, Mary Kay’s Clinic will be offering blood pressure and blood sugar screenings. If a patient has a high reading, they will be referred to a physician at Genesis Prime Care or to the ER.
The clinic will be open on the first and third Tuesdays of each month from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. in the church foyer. Volunteers don’t need to have any previous medical training. They can register patients, be trained to perform screenings, and provide patient nutrition and exercise counseling.
